United's New Summer Promotion

United Airlines has launched a new tiered promotion that offers between 2,000 to 15,000 bonus miles for one to three roundtrips taken between June 1 and August 31, 2008. According to the T & C, the promotion is only valid for "selected Mileage Plus members", but it seems that all members can register (please let me know if you were rejected).

Note that discount economy fare classes are not eligible for the offer. So when reserving an economy class ticket, it's a good idea to run two searches. First try a run-of-the-mill search for discount economy. Then enter "MPI038" at the "Electronic certificate or promotion code" box and search again. See if the difference in price justifies the added miles.
